QEEG

What is a QEEG?

A QEEG or Quantitative Electroencephalograph is compilation of data from 19 different areas of the brain. It allows us to “see” the activity of the brainwaves.

A QEEG demonstrates through color areas of the brain that are 1, 2 or 3 standard deviations over or under the mean. The diagram shown is only one page of a multiple page report of gathered information about the condition of the brain. The orange and red areas you see in the diagrams represent 2 and 3 standard deviations over the mean (or middle average). Conversely, the pictures of the head with more blue and green indicate 1, 2 or 3 SD under the mean. This is brain dysregulation.

QEEG-200x225If a brain has dysregulated brainwaves, symptoms like ADHD, depression, anxiety, anger or aggression can be observed in a person. However, this is not an exhaustive list of symptoms.

At Keys to Freedom Counseling & Neurofeedback we refer to our clinical consultant, Dr. Steven Stockdale to provide the QEEG’s. His report and recommends are used to facilitate the best protocol for each patient for their neurofeedback training.
